My First Love in Talent Acquisition
When I started as a trainee in Talent Acquisition at Despegar, I had no idea what awaited me. I learned to manage complex searches and what drives a business. I witnessed how efficient, transparent recruitment and structured employer branding can make hiring successful for both the company and the candidate.
There were few women in tech and technical recruiting. I determined not only what skills the market had to offer but why our brand mattered in the market. Our culture as an employer was fundamentally shaped by the stories I heard from candidates, hiring managers, and my own mentors.
Over one and a half years, I learned to navigate the intersection of sourcing, employer branding, and candidate experience. I contributed to a shift in our hiring strategy, strengthening our employer brand and attracting top talent.
